Project Spotlight
Bradford Publishing

Built in 1904, this four-story, 28,000-square foot historic building has large, single-pane, south-facing windows, uninsulated masonry walls and only 2 inches of foam roof insulation.

The owners chose to replace one of the old evaporative cooling units with a Coolerado Cooler.  This cooler has 18 Coolerado heat and mass exchangers, produces 16 tons of cooling and delivers air at 5,400 cubic feet per minute. It has inlet louvers, a motorized damper, 4-inch pre-filters, a 24-inch plenum fan, a discharge plenum and a 6-inch structural base.  The Coolerado Cooler uses the same roof curb as the evaporative unit it replaced.

It was unusually warm in March of 2004 when this unit was installed, and the people inside appreciated the cool, dry air when the unit was turned on.  As the summer heats up, their appreciation will grow, and we look forward to posting some testimonials here.

Tom Hobson with Mountain States Equipment Company built the Coolerado Cooler enclosure and snapped this picture.  When he gave the picture to us to us he said, "A Coolerado Cooler on Bradford Publishing's building in 2004 . . . . perhaps Denver's Union Station in 2005?"

We shall see.
